Through a raffle fundraiser, BOx was able to raise up to 7,500 pesos for the environmental education program in Danjugan Island in Cauayan, Negros Occidental.
The Department of Advocacy (DOA) showcased online one of the Ateneo Biological Organization’s advocacies, particularly animal and plant welfare through Wildlife Week on June 7-11. Having the goal of raising awareness for animal and plant welfare, the core team featured infographics, games, and a donation drive.
Last May 10, 2021 via Zoom, the LEAP Apprenticeship Program came to a close with its last event, a discernment talk about student leadership. While the LEAP apprentices have spent the last year working hard, learning about the ins and outs of BOx, and training in project management, VP for Training and Development Larry Acuña emphasized the importance of discernment in the choice to become a student leader.
Aiming to develop skills beyond the biological sciences, Out of the BOx is an annual workshop that tackles members’ other interests and hones abilities that can be utilized for the service of society. Focusing in sustainable cooking and fashion, Ateneo BOx tapped on The Sustainable Diner Project Manager, Melody Melo-Rijk, and Relevé Fashion founder and CEO, Raia Gomez to lead the discussion.
The highlight event in BYOPO was a Pet Competition that consisted of four different categories namely Most Meme-able Pet, Most Exotic Pet, Most AWW-dorable Pet, and Best in Dog Showcase. During a preliminary round, Facebook netizens were given the chance to select the top three Most Meme-able, Most Exotic, and Most AWW-dorable Pets that moved on to the live online event held via zoom last April 17.
Powering through the pandemic, this year’s Philippine Biology Olympiad (PBO) reached its conclusion last Saturday, March 20, with its top four finalists.
Posters. Spiels. Promos. In the third and final edition of the Project Management Orientation series, the Ateneo BOx urged interested members to take up roles in the promotions team through a digital arts seminar via Zoom on February 15.
Last February 1, 3, and 5, 2021, BOx launched a three-day dance workshop called DanceBox, an event which caters to the growth of the organization’s dancers, as part of its talents and sports development initiative.
Following the aftermath of the typhoons and the pandemic, the Department of Training and Development launched the JukeBOx event to all Ateneo Biological Organization (BOx) members last January 26 and 28. The two-day event then aimed to hone the participants’ skills and interest in singing and music.
With the limitations on physical activities due to health protocols, the ADMU Department of Biology prompted the shifting of PBO 2021: Sibol to a fully online competition as eliminations pushed through via Canvas on December 12, 2020.
